Out of Many One: An American Tapestry

Works by American composers, past and present, including a performance of Ron Kean’s American Mass with Chamber Orchestra. Ron Kean is being honored by California State University – Bakersfield this year in celebration of America 250 and his 75th birthday by including performances of American Mass as part of the Doug Davis Composition and Performance Endowment Prize. Ron and CSUB are looking forward to receiving our DGCS recording of this piece in consideration for a $5,000 prize. Other short works are programmed, and it is my hope to announce an exciting addition to this concert soon. The concert itself will start at 4PM. Please join us at 3:15PM for a pre-concert talk to learn more about the composer and the music. The concert will last about one and a half hours. Advance tickets are $25 for general admission, $20 for seniors, and $15 for students 13 and over. Admission is free for children under 13, but please note the concert is recorded and requires quiet attention. At the door, tickets are $27, $22 and $17 respectively.
