Orchids in the Winter

Join Seasonal Educator Toni to learn about our orchids alongside the polar extremes of cold winters and humid tropical environments! Where we currently are, we face the extremes of cold winters that force wildlife to either hibernate or endure the elements. However, tropical regions instead experience constantly humid and hot environments, which are perfect for our beautiful, diverse orchids! Join us for a guided walk through the Orchid Range to see our orchid collection, while also comparing their preferred tropical conditions inside to the harsher wintery conditions outside. We will be meeting first in the Farm Barn Orientation Center before departing for our program! Please let us know if you are no longer able to attend so your space can be offered to someone else. Cancellations received at least 48 hours in advance are eligible for a refund, if applicable. Programs at Duke Farms are held rain or shine, but in the event of severe or impeditive weather, classes may be canceled. Email notice will be given as early as possible via email and refunds will be issued in the case of cancellations.
