This class is designed especially for active military members or veterans who want a relaxed, creative experience with no pressure and plenty of fresh air. According to Hustis, “We’ll paint a bold, 250th Birthday remembrance Eagle inspired by Andy Warhol with bright colors, strong lines, and a nod to American resilience. You can also sketch the land, the horses, the goats, or the ever present farm dogs who love to supervise. Whether you’re brand new to drawing or returning to an old skill, you’ll learn simple techniques while enjoying the calm of the farm. Expect easy conversation, low stress, and a chance to reconnect with nature and creativity.” Participants are asked to wear appropriate shoes and clothing for the farm and weather, walking and painting. Oklahoma Wildflower Painting Sat, Oct 24, 9:00am-11:00am. Instructor: Jay Tracy, artist Max participants: 12 Painting is a non-stressful activity that anyone can do, even without experience. This class is led by Jay Tracy, who has taught beginning painting classes for nearly two decades. Jay has selected Oklahoma’s beautiful native wildflower, the Indian Blanket for the class. Its red flowers, tipped with yellow petals, are based on the legend of a blanket maker who wove beautiful blankets, including his burial blanket, of the same bright colors. The wildflower now blooms prolifically on the Oklahoma prairie as a gift from The Great Spirit to remind people of the blanket maker’s beautiful craft. Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing for painting, although an apron will be provided.
