Less Paulish Trio is a mostly instrumental group, playing improvised music in many styles. Members are: Roger Ferguson (National Flatpick Champion, guitar/mandolin/fiddle), Trevor Hanson (7-string guitars), and Mick Nicholson (bass). All three are well known Northwest performers, familiar throughout the area at many venues working with diverse ensembles.The trio's material ranges widely — swing and latin standards, bluegrass and other Americana/old-timey tunes, snatches from the Django Reinhardt manouche tradition, classics from the Great American Songbook, and original compositions. Some might categorize this music as acoustic string jazz.
