Raina, who has just about given up on civilized society and turned to her couch to satiate all her human needs, implores Maxim, a loyal and obsessive aficionado of high density foam, to give her one last fix. Jessica Garrison is a writer/director based in NYC and LA. She started writing for the stage as a founding member of theater company, Public Assembly, where an abridged version of Couch was first developed and produced. She has since moved to New York where it was excerpted and debuted in her Off Broadway trilogy called Weird But Okay. This brand new full-length iteration of Couch will be read for the first time by actors, Fabianne Therese (Dolly, John Dies at the End) and Steve Little (Eastbound & Down), with stage directions by Nic Murphy, and directed by Jessica Garrison, produced by Frank Mosley (Freeland, OBEX). This is the fourth in a series of staged readings by the Los Angeles based collective REQUIRED READING. Proceeds from this performance at The Elysian Theater will go toward Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, fighting hunger since 1973 by providing food, school lunches, and resources to communities facing food insecurity. Their mission - no one goes hungry in Los Angeles. *Doors open 30 minutes before showtime* Seating is general admission and begins 15 mins before showtime.
