Citizen Science Group

Do you want to be a citizen scientist? Join us every 3rd Tuesday at the Brentwood Darlington Community Center. This fall we’re focused on astronomy projects like Globe At Night and Lost At Night. What is citizen science? Citizen science is the practice of public participation and collaboration in scientific research to increase scientific knowledge. Through citizen science, people share and contribute to data monitoring and collection programs. What is the current project? This month we’ll learn how to make and submit observations for the Globe At Night campaign. This includes learning to identify the selected constellation, match a magnitude chart, and submit observation reports. If you have your own star chart feel free to bring it along. We’ll also discuss other astronomy projects and select the project for next month. Who is this for? This is for anyone interested in science with any level of experience from completely new to career scientists.
