History Hour at Essex Meadows: Connecticut Witch Trials

Essex Historical Society and Essex Meadows present History Hour. This new program will feature a speaker, author, presenter, or musician once a month. History hour is FREE and open to the public. We recommend arriving to Hamilton Hall by 9:50 am. as seating is available first-come, first-served. No need to register for this event. Recently retired as the head of the History Department from Valley Regional High School, and serving as the archivist for Chester Historical Society, Connecticut native, Don Perreault will present an illustrated talk on the witch trials of 17th century Connecticut. As a specialist in local history, Don's energetic talk will address the historical context and hysteria that gripped New England as well as a number of specific cases of men and women accused of witchcraft.
