From Every Thing Goes
Join us for Staten Island for Communities Not Cages, a community town hall at Every Thing Goes Book Cafe. RSVP here. Over 35,000 people are incarcerated every day. 3 out of 4 are Black or brown. Join formerly incarcerated leaders, families, advocates, and Staten Islanders to talk about New York’s sentencing laws, the impact of mass incarceration on families and communities, and how we fight for safety and justice. Workshop is run by the Center for Community Alternatives. Website: www.communityalternatives.org
