You'll be mesmerized by her hand cast forms and beautiful glasswork - it's an exhibition you don't want to miss. Rivers by Blaine Steiner, co-owner of Spees Studios in Nashville, will be on exhibition in the Third Degree Glass Factory gallery March 6 - April 27. An MFA graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, Blaine received her masters in large-scale cast glass sculpture, but she found her passion completely by accident. What she initially thought would be simply a ‘cool elective’ ended up changing the entire course of her life. Having moved often throughout her life, Blaine's most recent body of work, Rivers, began as an attempt to ground herself in places that have impacted her the most. She started hand carving forms that represented rivers where she had lived, allowing her to confront feelings of loss, nostalgia, and opportunity.
