Rediscovering the Northeast’s Forgotten Crops

Join us for an evening celebrating climate-adaptive perennial crops of the Northeast. Focusing on blackcurrants and tree nuts, we’ll hear from two brands working to establish and grow the market for products made from these crops. As climate pressures increase, farmers look to supplement low profits, and consumers prioritize functional ingredients, there are many reasons to celebrate these crops and their stewards: These crops are hardy, thrive in our region, and are inherently sustainable Focusing on regional production enables shorter supply chains and closer relationships between farmers, processors, and consumers They produce high quality and nutritious ingredients with broad applications The evening opens with a conversation between the individuals pursuing this important work, followed by time to mingle and sample their products. One drink from Farm. One’s bar and Northeast-sourced nibbles are included with your ticket; cash bar after. Hosted at Farm. One and made possible by the generosity of Great Wonder.
