Join Curator of American Art at the Farnsworth Art Museum, Francesca Soriano, for Part 2 of a guided walk through the galleries to view the exhibition By Design: The Worlds of Betsy James Wyeth. The second one will focus on the Wyeth Center. Audiences can expect to learn more about Betsy’s areas of collecting, her wide array of interests, and how they were intertwined in her projects. The tour will also focus on two specific projects, Southern Island and the Olson House, highlighting Betsy’s unique vision for these sites, and the creative partnership she shared with her husband, Andrew Wyeth. The walk will last approximately 30 minutes, after which guests will have the opportunity to explore the remaining galleries independently. Francesca Soriano is the Curator of American Art at the Farnsworth Art Museum. She holds a PhD from Boston University in the History of Art and Architecture with a specialization in 19th and 20th century American art. Francesca has held positions at the Colby College Museum of Art, where she did her undergraduate degree, the Dallas Museum of Art, Di Donna Galleries in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA, as well as a research fellowship at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
