In this relaxed watercolor class, participants will create a series of small landscape paintings inspired by nature, from rolling hills and quiet forests to sunsets, skies, and peaceful waters. Explore simple watercolor techniques for creating atmospheric skies, distant landscapes, trees, and natural textures while learning how to build a painting with color, shape, and depth. Perfect for beginners and experienced painters alike, this class is all about slowing down, experimenting, and capturing the beauty of the outdoors in miniature. Bring a photo of a landscape you'd like to paint or use one of our reference images. She is the Director of Education and Outreach and an instructor at FAVA. She completed an MFA in Ceramics from West Virginia University in 2020, as well as an BFA in Painting and Drawing from Bowling Green State University. She specializes in Ceramics, Painting and Drawing. Her 3D artwork emphasizes texture, repetition and mark making on hand-built ceramic structures. The goal is to provide both the maker and the viewer a whimsical, saturated, and tactile experience as they interact with her objects and installations. While we may not be able to provide a complete scholarship to all those who request it, we are committed to making our classes available to as many people as possible – regardless of individual financial circumstances.
