Nature’s Little Explorers

Early Childhood Education (ECE) at Flanders opens the wonders of nature to our youngest learners. Designed for ages 2–5, these seasonal caregiver‑and‑me classes spark curiosity, engage the senses, and nurture safe outdoor exploration. Each session invites little ones to discover new textures, colors, sounds, and stories in the natural world — and create joyful memories together. Seasons Explorations What changes in the landscape as fall transitions to winter? What do animals, plants and insects do? In this class we’ll explore the meadow, the forest and the marsh and then create a ‘wheel’ of color with leaves, sticks, and natural objects to celebrate seasonal color! Music & Sound in Forest Get into some noisy fun as your child explores noise-makers both natural and instrument-based. We’ll then lead our group through rhythms together exploring percussion. A hike to listen to natural noises and explore the sounds of the forest is included.
