Overview Dive into Film Photography! Whether you want to dip your toe in the film photography pool, or you’re already swimming and eager to take a deeper dive, Film Photo Guru Lance Rothstein will immerse you in all the aspects of the craft and inspire you to take the plunge. With more than 30 years experience as a professional photojournalist, Lance will bring his film and darkroom expertise, along with many different cameras and film from his massive collection. He’ll discuss the current state of film photography and many of the options available, including 35mm, medium & large format, Polaroid & Instax, even some alternative process techniques like developing your film in instant coffee! We’ll talk about many different resources for film photographers, local, national and international. This will definitely be a two way discussion so feel free to bring your own film camera (or three), if you have questions about them. Meet the Educator Lance Rothstein is a photojournalist with more than 30 years of experience, and he has worked for numerous publications, including The New York Times, the Miami Herald, and the Tampa Tribune. He was also a staff photographer for the Tampa Bay Times for nine years. After six years working as a freelance photographer in Europe, Lance is back in Florida, and specializes in teaching film & darkroom photography locally.
