Connect with Taiko drumming and Japanese culture in a new way by stopping by the table in the Main Lobby before the show to learn about Appleton’s sister city, Kanonji, Japan! The Kanonji Appleton Partnership (KAP) is a volunteer-led, non-profit sister city organization. It was founded in 1988 to introduce Appleton residents to the culture and language of Kanonji, Japan. Ticket holders will be able to talk with KAP from 6:30 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. before DRUM TAO about our relationship with Kanonji, including a long established exchange program, and check out samples and instruction sheets on how to make simple Japanese instruments like the Den-Den Daiko (a hand drum) out of everyday items. This opportunity is brought to you in collaboration with KAP and with community support from Community First Credit Union.
