About this event
One of 29 upcoming events at Foxfire.
@ Tree bark has been used for generations to create beautiful, functional containers. This holiday season, you can learn this Appalachian tradition in a fun, hands-on workshop with The Primitive Arts’ Andrew Lee. Join us for this special seasonal class where you’ll craft your own miniature folded bark basket ornament! These small baskets are perfect for decorating your tree or a lovely gift for friends and family. This one-day workshop is fully beginner-friendly, and all materials are included. Andrew Lee is the founder of The Primitive Arts, a teaching studio focused on preserving ancestral skills through approachable, hands-on learning. Based in Northeast Georgia, Andrew teaches bark basketry, stone tools, flintknapping, traditional fire-making methods, and other primitive craft techniques across the region. When he’s not teaching, Andrew continues to research, practice, and demonstrate traditional skills that have shaped Appalachian life for generations.
