Outdoors Family Friendly

Meeting at Courtesy Stable Trailhead Kiosk (909 E. Cathedral Road) Distance: 4.5 miles Difficulty Level: Difficult (many inclines and declines, uneven surfaces) Audience: Ages 12+ Parking: There is plenty of free street parking along East Cathedral Road. See map for details. Restrooms: There will likely not be bathroom access during our hike. Join us for a favorite “Five Trails, One Hike” loop walk that includes five of the major trails in the Wissahickon. We’ll start and finish at the kiosk at Courtesy Stables on Cathedral Road and enjoy connecting the trails from both sides of the creek. Along the way, we’ll observe points of natural and historic interest, including WPA structures and the Looking West statue. The route includes some steep and rocky ascents and descents and is about 4.5 miles long. Children 12 years of age and older are welcome when accompanied by an adult; no dogs except for service animals, please. Registration is required for all events so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain or icy conditions. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org. Register below!
