Meeting at Historic RittenhouseTown Parking: There are several small parking areas at Historic RittenhouseTown and more free parking along nearby neighborhood streets. See map for details. Bathrooms: None Join Friends of the Wissahickon for a special large-scale clean-up along Lincoln Drive! For this effort, the Drive will be closed from Wissahickon Avenue to Ridge Avenue, providing volunteers with safe access to a heavily traveled road. By removing litter along the roadway, we can prevent trash from washing into the creek during rainstorms and help protect habitat and stream health. All are welcome to attend, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. With that being said, this service day may include the following activities: • Litter clean-up • Hiking up to 2 miles (we’ll be traveling up and down Lincoln Drive picking up trash) We provide gloves, tools, and instruction–you just need to show up! Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants, and remember to bring water with you. Detailed information and confirmation of the meeting location will be sent by email one business day before the event. If you are hoping to bring a group of 5 or more people, please reach out to us first. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org. Register Below!
