Meeting at Magdalena Street & Walnut Lane (639 Walnut Lane) Distance: 4 miles Difficulty Level: Difficult (many inclines and declines, uneven surfaces) Audience: Ages 12+ Parking: There is plenty of parking in the lot on across from the Walnut Lane Golf Club. Restrooms: The bathrooms at Walnut Lane Golf Club will be available to use at the start and end of our hike. Join Debbie, Jim, and Terry on a mid Spring hike. There is so much to see in terms of flora at this time of year, including some spring ephemerals! We’ll observe what the frogs are doing at the frog pond, as well as learn why the frog pond is there. Crossing 2 bridges, we’ll see some points of historical interest. Our route is about 4 miles and we expect to spend about 3 hours on the trails. The hike includes some rocky terrain, including a particularly rocky downhill, so be prepared. Children 12 years of age and older are welcome when accompanied by an adult, but please—no dogs except for service animals. Registration is required for all events so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. Unless otherwise specified, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain or icy conditions. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org. Cover Photo: David Naylor Register below!
