The Wissahickon in July

Meeting at Houston Playground (900 Grakyn Lane) Join Debbie Hoellein, Jim McClory, and Paul Ricker on a summer hike in the Wissahickon. We’ll be hiking on both sides of the creek, through meadow and woods. Courtesy Stable is on our route along with 2 bridges. We’ll see what is growing and blooming in July. Our approximately 4.2 mile route includes a rocky decline and a walk up Monster hill. Children 12 years of age and older are welcome when accompanied by an adult, but please—no dogs except for service animals. Distance: 4 miles Difficulty Level: Difficult (many inclines and declines, uneven surfaces) Audience: Ages 12+ Parking and Transit: There is usually plenty of street parking on Sequoia Road and Grakyn Lane, and you can find additional parking on the surrounding neighborhood streets.
