Tuesday Devil’s Pool Clean-Up

Meeting at Valley Green Inn (Forbidden Drive and Valley Green Road) Parking and Transit: There are three lots near the Inn. The northern parking lot on Forbidden Drive can be accessed by Wises Mill Road, and the southern by Valley Green Road. Overflow parking is in the Upper Valley Green Road Lot. The only nearby transit is the 27 bus stop at Henry Ave and Wigard Ave, a 15-minute hike from the Inn. See map for details. Bathrooms: There will be bathroom access at the Valley Green Inn before we walk over to Devil’s Pool. Would you like to be part of keeping the Wissahickon Valley watershed healthy and litter-free? Then join us on Tuesday mornings this summer for a Devil’s Pool Clean-up! All are welcome to attend, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. With that being said, this service day may include the following activities: • Litter clean-up: carrying trash bags up to 20 lbs, hiking up to 1.5 miles, navigating rocky terrain • Repetitive motions We provide gloves, tools, and instruction–you just need to show up! Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants, and remember to bring water with you. Detailed information and confirmation of the meeting location will be sent by email one business day before the event. Registration is required for all volunteer service days so that participants can be informed of emergency cancellations. Service days are cancelled in steady precipitation or other dangerous weather conditions. If you are hoping to bring a group of 5 or more people, please reach out to us first.
