Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Frisco Native American Museum by… coming to an exciting afternoon with Museum Assistant and Artisan Amber Roth to learn about survival skills of the Croatoan natives. While it’s often stated that indigenous people used everything around them, what did that look like on Hatteras Island? A sandbar with limited deer and lots of fish might appear to be a poor choice for a long term home if you’re living off the land. But the Outer Banks holds a lot of secrets for those willing to listen. From making baskets to using fish bones, Amber will be sharing her knowledge and experience from 20+ years at the museum. Bring your curiosity and questions! Event will be all day. You can gain admission with 10 pieces of quahog shell and/or a canned good to donate to Hatteras Food Pantry.
