What begins as petty theft spirals into a deadly moral unraveling. Director Biography – Elias Holgersson Having nurtured a fascination with storytelling since early childhood and making his first short films in his pre-teen years, Elias Holgersson now makes his feature debut with ‘Sharks’ – a stark, black-and-white neo-noir drama-thriller. Director Statement “I wanted to explore — and better understand — the ‘very thin and easily crossed line’ between one’s ethical-moral compass and the lure of personal ambition, which can ultimately lead to self-destruction. How easily do we actually abandon our values at the mere taste — or even passing thought — of how much greener the grass might seem on the other side? I’m also drawn to the raw concept of ‘East’ & poor and ‘West’ & rich, in a broader, societal (worldly, if you will) context. Words like ‘economic welfare’ and ‘status’ often shape our behavior more than we’d like to admit — and certainly more than we’re willing to confront.
