Guest Speaker + Co-Host Fabiana Meléndez Ruiz (she/her) is a Venezuelan-American communications expert and the co-founder and CEO of Refuerzo Collaborative, a Latina-owned agency focused on nurturing stories that reinforce community. With a deep passion for communication and strategic storytelling, she has worked on impactful campaigns for mission-driven organizations and is an advocate for including Spanish-speaking communities in media narratives. Fabiana has been recognized for her contributions to the field with numerous awards and actively participates in various community organizations. Guest Speaker + DJ Ed West ED WEST is a Native Texan, award-winning DJ, active event producer and community organizer in Austin, Texas. Ed is the founder of Austin-local mainstays ATX Trans Pride and Neon Rainbows. He is dedicated to serving the community and having fun. Guest Speaker + Co-Host Em Shapiro (they/them) is a queer filmmaker and educator based in Austin, passionate about care work and building community.
