About this event
Quick Quick/Slow: a visual dance for your peepers Ricky Darell Barton Carissa Toomey Ricky Darell Barton: Robot Paintings are the creation of abstract paintings using a set color scheme and vocabulary. Foreground and background painting allow color to be the principal character in the painting process. By adding letters and shapes more energy happens and Robotic figurative shapes happen adding even more energy. This energy excites me and a conversation begins. All Automatic through a process, that I refer to as The Robot Paintings. Carissa Toomey: For me, art isn’t a carefully executed plan. It’s the questioning, the experiments, and the willingness to let the work become what it wants to be. I work intuitively, letting process, mishaps, and discovery lead instead of forcing an outcome. The most thrilling part is letting go and seeing what the work becomes. The mystery of not knowing keeps it exciting and curious. Opening Reception: November 6, 6-8pm Closing Reception: November 28, 5-7pm
