Family Fun with Flowers

Bring the whole family for a hands-on flower arranging class, whether you’re an adult or a child. This is a morning of making something beautiful together, side by side at the same table. You’ll work in adult-and-child pairs, with all the containers, flowers, and materials provided. Our instructor will guide you step by step, so there’s nothing to prepare and no experience needed. By the end, each pair will have created two arrangements to take home, one to keep and one to give. Along the way you’ll pick up the simple techniques that make flowers look their best, the kind you can use again at your own kitchen table. Mostly, though, it’s about the pleasure of arranging flowers with someone you love, in the middle of the garden on a Saturday morning. No experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity, and gloves and clippers if you have them. Required Materials If you have them, please bring gloves, clippers (adult), and scissors (child). Instructor Bio Karen Flores earned her certificate in traditional floral design at Filoli. She spent over ten years there teaching family flower arranging classes. She currently teaches for local garden clubs, rose societies and the Pink Ribbon Good groups. Karen is an accredited Floral Design judge for the Garden Club of America and for the American Rose Society. She enjoys sharing her love of flowers with the younger generation.
