Faculty Perspectives: Dr. Mario Erasmo

Mario Erasmo, professor and head of the University of Georgia’s department of classics, will give a gallery talk on “Edmonia Lewis: Said in Stone.” He will examine Lewis’ art through his expertise on the reception of classical antiquity and explore the influence of the Greek War of Independence on the U.S. abolitionist movement. *We expect a higher turnout than usual for this drop-in tour. The tour is capped at 20 participants; please plan to arrive early to guarantee your spot.
