Reception and Awards April 12th 3-5 Prospectus GENERAL INFORMATION The 2026 Annual Juried Art Exhibit is open mid-Spring from April 12 – June 23, 2026. We are seeking fine art and craft in all media suitable for exhibit and judging. There are three categories: 2-diminsional painted, drawn, and mixed media works of art, photography, and 3-diminsional works of art. Submissions to be considered for this exhibit are being considered now. All mediums, including ceramics, fiber, leather, metal, wood, paper, watercolor, oils, acrylics and pastel paint are accepted. Artists are juried based on their body of work with criteria of creativity, use of media, and technique. The 2026 Annual Juried Art Exhibition is open to artists 16 years old and up. There are monetary awards for the three divisions. There will be an award of $150 and a ribbon  for the top score in each of the three categories. Second place will receive a certificate, and Third place will receive a ribbon. People’s Choice will receive a Gilmer Arts membership. CALENDAR OF EVENTS:  Entry Deadline: Friday, March 20, 2026, 5pm Notifications: Friday, March 27, 2026, Delivery: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, April 7, 8, 9, 2026 (’til Noon on the 9th) Opening Reception: Sunday, April 12, 2026, 3-5pm Winners Announced: Sunday, April 12, 2026, 4pm Exhibit Closing: Saturday, June 20, 2026:5pm Removal of Art: Tuesday, June 23, 2026 ENTRY SPECIFICATIONS: 2-D Art (Up to 6 entries allowed), Hanging work must be firmly wired with the wire apex 2 inches from the top of the frame. No saw-toothed hangers allowed. Framed or gallery-wrapped canvas will be accepted. All works should be in excellent condition. 3-D Art (Up to 6 entries), Should be stable for display on a pedestal or shelf. Photography (up to 6 entries), At this time we are only accepting traditional photography with minor computer editing. No conceptual photos or AI photos. JUROR:     Joe Basco Joe Basco’s journey from a military illustrator to a seasoned airline pilot to a dedicated artist is a testament to his passion and talent. Born in 1954 in northern California, Joe’s artistic journey began in his youth, leading him through various creative endeavors. Starting with Tee shirt designs and local ads, Joe honed his skills through high school and beyond. His career took a turn when the Army recognized his artistic abilities during his service in the early 1970s. Stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia, Joe contributed to training manuals and television productions, setting the stage for his diverse artistic portfolio. His time in Germany further expanded his skills in photography and darkroom work, earning him recognition in a Europe-wide photo contest in 1974. After military service, Joe settled in Orange, Texas, where he balanced work in printing with flight school, eventually embarking on a 40-year career as a pilot with various commercial airlines. Retiring as a United Airlines Captain in 2019, Joe returned to his true pass...
