Spa-Dee-Dah is the fictional day spa set inside a converted abandoned church in Eden Falls, Georgia, which serves as the primary setting for the popular comedic play The Hallelujah Girls by Jones, Hope, and Wooten The Catalyst: After a dear friend passes away, a feisty group of middle-aged Southern women realize that time is short. They vow to change their lives and chase their dreams. The Venture: Firecracker leader Sugar Lee Thompkins buys an old abandoned church and transforms it into the Spa-Dee-Dah, where she and her tight-knit group of girlfriends meet every Friday afternoon. The Conflict: Chaos ensues as the women grapple with personal baggage—from stagnant marriages and multiple past husbands to rebellious kids. Tension peaks when Sugar Lee’s former high school sweetheart reappears and her bitter archrival plots to steal the spa building away from her.
