Alison Kenyon Art Reception

Join us for an art-filled evening celebrating work by local painter Alison Kenyon. Get cozy with us from 5-8pm on November 14: as the days get shorter and the nights get colder, enjoy a warm evening of music, art, friends, food- and of course kombucha! Alison will have a piece on the easel; painting live throughout the festivities. All prints purchased at the event will be hand-signed with her trademark gold ink! Get ready to WIN art items in a raffle, and bid on prints and originals in a silent auction: all proceeds benefitting Neighborhood Center of the Arts- a local nonprofit giving the neurodiverse artists of Nevada County a safe place to develop their creative skills, build confidence in their abilities, and learn valuable social and life skills among like-minded peers. --- In 1993, Alison Kenyon began building her professional artist life in San Francisco as a circus performer, visual artist, costume and prop maker, clown, and fire swallower. Over the years she added tango dancer, professional wrestler, and internationally recognized body painter to the list; placing second on the competition reality TV show "Skin Wars" in 2016. Alison has created - and embodied - art for thirty years; from the San Francisco Bay Area, to the Sierra Foothills, and around the world. Over time her preferred medium has changed as she moved away from The City, became a mom, retired from performing, and in 2022 swapped out body painting for works on canvas and murals. But her life's purpose remains constant: shine light into the world through art. Her paintings reflect the nascent wellspring of intuition, transformation, healing, and wisdom of the Divine Feminine that’s all around us. She’s always looking for new ways to capture the regal beauty of women’s faces; not only their outer elegance, but also their inner power.
