Brasinola

Brasinola plays the music of Brazil's Tropicalia movement with a New Orleans rhythm underneath. The band draws on the late 1960s and 1970s heyday of that Brazilian sound -- its blend of samba, funk, folk, and psychedelia -- while grounding everything in the feel of the city where they perform. As bassist and co-founder Ron Johnson has put it, "the NOLA in our name is the foot of the New Orleans drummer." A longtime presence on the city's club circuit, the band first made their name at the Maple Leaf Bar and have been a Frenchmen Street fixture since. Full bar on-site. No check-in required.
