Restorative Yoga with Live Guitar & Sound Bath: A Mind/Body Experience Slow down, release tension and reconnect with your body during this immersive 90-minute restorative yoga experience. Gentle movement, live acoustic guitar and a soothing sound bath come together to create space for deep relaxation and renewal. A Sound & Yoga Experience As Areta guides you through restorative yoga poses, guitarist Dave Hiltebrand will create an atmospheric soundscape of original music. His live acoustic guitar will respond to the energy and flow of the room. Throughout the practice, sounds from singing bowls, crystal bowls, wind chimes, percussion and Native American flutes will blend with the guitar. Together, these musical vibrations create a calming, multisensory experience. Meanwhile, you’ll settle into passive poses with longer holds and slow, gentle stretches. Bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps will provide support so your body can fully relax. This restorative practice encourages stillness, helps release tension and gives your body time to recover. Finally, a guided meditation will bring the experience to a peaceful close. Leave feeling calmer, more grounded and refreshed in both mind and body. No previous yoga or sound bath experience is needed. All curious lovers of music, movement and relaxation are welcome! Areta and Dave have been teaching and guiding music and wellness practices at the Gorton Center for a number of years, they have worked together on various offerings and are super excited to bring you this newest collaborative, immersive experience this fall.
