Letterpress Printed Artist Book Weekend DAY ONE // PRINTING (Ages 12+)

These letterpress printing and bookbinding workshops are intended to be complimentary: a two-workshop weekend! Participants will be able to use their prints made on the press in the book they bind. Register for one class or both! Day 1: Letterpress Printing with Alternative Materials On day one, create unique compositions with alternative materials on the letterpress! Participants will have a chance to embrace the element of play on the press, as they make their own prints using foam stencils to create layered imagery. Day 2: Wire-Edge Binding On day two, participants will be introduced to a simple but unique binding technique, wire-edge binding. This workshop will start with collage (paper, thread, dry flowers, and more). Wire will be used to bind the book together. The wire spine will be exposed on the inside of the book but covered with thread on the outside. Instructors: Lexie Doerr and Nana Takano Cost: $35 for one class or $60 for both days
