This is a beginning course in drawing designed to develop and expand your understanding of various methods and materials available to you. Through a series of exercises, Neil will lead you through aspects of drawing, including line, sight-size, comparative, and Notan, among others. Emphasis will be on play and experimentation and students will gain a foundational knowledge of drawing materials, which will include work with pencil, pen, and charcoal as well as various surfaces. This workshop is open to ages 15+ Students can either purchase the optional supply kit that includes the following supplies, or they can bring the following with them 14 x 18-inch paper-lose sheets or drawing pad Pencils: one each: 2h,HB,2B,4B,6B Eraser, kneed or other Pencil sharpener, traditional or razor blade Koi Coloring Brush Pens: one each: black, dark warm gray, warm gray Plumb line: any dark string(width in-between a piece of thread and a shoe lace) with a weight (metal washer or nut) tied to end, 3-4 feet long.
