About this event

Outdoors Workshops

Taking as our inspiration the Lake Superior shoreline, our focus will be on writing poetry inspired by the natural world, called ecopoetry. We will write much the way a painter paints a landscape: by slowing down and letting the beautiful Northshore environment inspire our writing. We will also read ecopoetry in class written by celebrated poets who write about a range of ecological topics from the joy of spring to changing climates. Class will conclude with a poetry reading and Q&A by award winning Twin Cities-based nature poet, Moheb Soliman.   Kathryn Savage is a fiscal year 2026 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
