Taking as our inspiration the Lake Superior shoreline, our focus will be on writing poetry inspired by the natural world, called ecopoetry. We will write much the way a painter paints a landscape: by slowing down and letting the beautiful Northshore environment inspire our writing. We will also read ecopoetry in class written by celebrated poets who write about a range of ecological topics from the joy of spring to changing climates. Class will conclude with a poetry reading and Q&A by award winning Twin Cities-based nature poet, Moheb Soliman.
