Audience: Teens Ages 12 to 18 What: Teens are invited to join us in the Cordingley Room to discuss the wilderness survival classic, Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. Hatchet is a gripping young adult novel about 13-year-old Brian’s attempt to survive the Canadian wilderness alone. Readers will enjoy Brian’s tenacity and the similarities of Montana’s wilderness to the environment in which Brian finds himself. We will be joined by Kyle Reedy, a dedicated backcountry adventure hunter and amateur outdoor writer who consistently tests his limits in the most rugged landscapes in North America. Teens will be able to ask about Kyle’s outdoor experience and hear about how to prepare the basics for time outside in Montana’s wilderness. Copies of Hatchet are available for check out with a free library card. Snacks will be provided. All events are free to attend. Groups are welcome! Please contact Youth Services Staff: (406) 453-0349 ext. 215, [email protected]
