@ Join our Executive Director Crista Dix for a focused session on how to approach portfolio reviews with clarity, intention, and confidence at the year’s New England Portfolio Reviews. PORTFOLIO PREP Designed for photographers at all stages, this program breaks down what reviewers look for, how to shape a cohesive edit, and how to speak about your work in a way that resonates. Through practical guidance and real-world insight, Dix will address common pitfalls, strategies for sequencing and presentation, and how to align your portfolio with your goals—whether curatorial, editorial, or commercial. Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of how to frame their practice, refine their narrative, and make the most of every review opportunity. © © Ron Reeder, portrait of Crista Dix Twenty minutes to introduce yourself and your work passes quickly, so it’s essential to put your best foot forward. This two-session workshop is designed to support your strategy for success. Whether you are preparing for New England Portfolio Reviews, Filter, LACP Exposure or the Review Santa Fe Portfolio Reviews, this weekend workshop is designed to help ease the pressure of the review process. Whether you are a seasoned participant or attending your first review, this information-packed workshop — covering the value of research, conversational practice, and confident preparation — will help you navigate the portfolio review world. We want you to feel prepared. This weekend workshop with Griffin Museum Executive Director Crista Dix will help you get ready for these conversations by working through how to present your work online, speak about your work with confidence, and ask thoughtful questions of your reviewers to maximize your experience. Day One focuses on best practices for portfolio reviews, including the do’s and don’ts, refining your pitch, understanding the value of research, and developing a strategy to find the best reviewer match and desired outcomes. Day Two centers on a mock review, fine-tuning your pitch, practicing screen sharing, and learning how to make the most of the 20-minute review timeframe.
