About this event
One of 2 upcoming events at Hairpin Arts Center, and 9,618 across Chicago.
Under the Marigolds The Logan Square Chamber of Arts is honored to commemorate the Day of the Dead. When one of our own heard the unforgettable and ethereal song ‘Marigolds’ by Andrea Bejar, we saw the musical bridges building themselves. That a haunting melody could bring worlds together regardless of political or temporal boundaries. And here we are, honoring and guarding memories of loved ones passed away but ever-present. Please join us as we create memories together in a coffeehouse atmosphere, with world class live music and an interactive vendor market that honors the day. The coffee is single-origin from Colombia, and this shows one element of the global skills on display in this setting. We must honor all the spirits and call them to sing along with us, to enjoy the warmth of being alive and as one. This is a completely free event including free coffee, as a way of saying THANK YOU GUARDIANS AND GARDENERS EVERYWHERE from Real Air Records, Black Baseball Store, CAFELINA, Maygua’s Jewelry, Neveria la Garrafita, and all musicians and artists worldwide.
