Battle of the Dad Bands The First Ever Rock and Roll Challenge for Charity Friday, November 6 from 6:30–10 pm Tickets: $25 (on sale Monday, September 14) Tompkins County’s top “Dad Bands” will rock out for their favorite charities in an epic “Battle of the Dad Bands” at 6:30 pm, November 6 at the Hangar Theatre. The First Ever Rock and Roll Challenge for Charity will feature local groups playing sets for the pure love of music and competing to win for their selected charity. Winners will be selected by audience voting – first place will garner half of the prize money, second place one-third, and third place one-sixth. “Dad Band” is a gender-neutral term for an amateur group of musicians who get together to play their favorite music for the love of rock and roll in someone’s basement, neighborhood fests, and their friends’ parties. Doors open at 6 pm; event begins at 6:30 pm The event is being directed by local Dad Band musician Matt Montague. Note: Seating is General Admission for this event.
