Join visual artist and teacher Bernadette Waystack for a journey through the Robert F. Smith Cold Brook Preserve to capture the beauty of the moment through original poems. Learn — or review — the structure of two simple but elegant techniques for poetry writing: haiku and diamanté. Then, explore the Preserve to find inspiration from the flora, fauna and scenery. You can even try your hand at a haiku comic or illustrate your diamanté with color, shape and line. This program is part of Write Out Cape Cod, which invites everyone to spend time outside and connect with nature, then reflect on observations and capture them in the written word. This year’s Write Out Cape Cod is the first regional collaboration of its kind, inspired by the national Write Out campaign. Please bring paper, pens, pencils, or color pencils — whatever you prefer
