The Hermosa Beach Museum invites you on a bus tour tribute to Diana Mausser, the 'Queen of California Tile.' After graduating from UCLA in 1986 with a BA in Design, the local Hermosan started her own business, Native Tile. She made tile in the style of 1920s-1940s California that now decorates homes around the world. This tour will visit prominent sites featuring Diana's work, beginning with the Adamson House in Malibu and ending with refreshments at a Spanish Colonial Revival house in Manhattan Beach. The tour is scheduled for approximately 9am-4pm on Saturday, November 7. Please note that this tour will include walking portions and stairs. Food and refreshments will be provided as part of the ticket price - details available soon! Praise for Past HB Museum Bus Tours "The best historic bus tour I've experienced. Obsessively researched, succinctly presented, with not one but two surprise guest experts, and a fabulous lunch in a historic site to top it all off. I couldn't recommend going on this team's next tour more strongly. I'll certainly be there." "This tour was a breeze! Pleasant, informative and engaging. I had no idea of the Depression history of El Segundo, Torrance and the Beach Cities. Great choice of the Depot restaurant for lunch in Old Torrance added to the immersive experience. Bus was comfortable and well-appointed. Thank you for this enlightening and enjoyable event!" "The tour had a perfect mix of walking and riding to see all the public works. There were many stops, but the tour was never rushed. The stop for lunch was fantastic. Ending at the Clark Building for a toast at the end was the chef's kiss to a perfect outing. Thank you to the Hermosa Museum to all the planning and care that went into this event!" "Tours like this that are locally based are long overdue. I have been on both bus tours and was pleased to have been there... Keep them coming."
