Register Now Let’s explore creating exciting designs using the versatility of paper as a weaving material. We will transform strips of paper into woven designs filled with pattern, rhythm, and color. New visual images can be created and have a variety of uses. Paper weavings can be used in handmade books, greetings cards, and wall hangings. They can stand alone as artworks or be incorporated into other art endeavors including mixed media projects. The final image created by weaving strips of paper can be colorful and graphic or quite intricate. Using two of the same image and weaving the strips together transforms the image into a new form. Whether you are looking to explore surface design or to inspire yourself with new ideas for your art practice, you will leave with workshop with finished weavings and the inspiration to continue creating on your own. Basic materials for all projects will be provided; however, participants are encouraged to bring their own papers and images to use in their paper weavings.
