Bio: Killer Whale is a New Orleans-based music project masterminded by singer-songwriter and musician Thomas Johnson. The band’s signature style straddles multiple worlds, blending the soulful, rhythmic bounce of Southern R&B with the hazy, sun-drenched vibe of West Coast surf folk and dream pop. Johnson’s bi-coastal lifestyle between Louisiana and California deeply influences this distinctive sound, often affectionately labeled as “pontoon soul” or “dreamy funk”. Weekend Live Music Highland Brewing’s weekend live music series showcases incredible local talent, regional acts and national touring bands from across the East Coast and beyond. Free and open to all ages (unless noted otherwise), it’s the perfect excuse to gather your crew, listen and vibe to a wide range of genres including soul, bluegrass, acoustic, country, folk and more. Live music typically takes place on our scenic Meadow stage. Shows are rain or shine, if the weather doesn’t cooperate and we have time to move inside, the band will play in the Taproom where there’s still plenty of room to boogie. Chairs, blankets and well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome in the Meadow. Please note that coolers and outside alcohol are not permitted on the premises.
