EAST WORKSHOP: Poetry with Taru Thompson

Words come alive in this inspiring EAST Kids Arts Workshop led by poet and educator Taru Thompson. Young writers will explore poetry as a creative tool for self-expression, storytelling, and reflection. Through fun prompts, group activities, and gentlediscussion, kids will learn how to turn their thoughts, feelings, and observations into poems. Drawing inspiration from nature, mindfulness, and everyday experiences, this workshop encourages students to slow down, notice the world around them, and find confidence in their own voices. No writing experience is necessary—just curiosity and an open mind.
