Before she became a published author, Larcom was a person, quietly independent, self-directed, and determined to shape her own life. Yet that part of her story is often overlooked. Many people associate Larcom with Lowell, from Lucy Larcom Park to her well-known connections there. But did you know Lucy Larcom was born in Beverly?
