, Join us on America’s 250th Anniversary Tour of Fort Greene, where you will have the opportunity to take a Walking Tour highlighting the rich, complex, and evolving legacy of Fort Greene Park. This tour will explore Fort Greene’s historical relationship to the American Revolutionary War, using monuments and storytelling to trace the significance of the Battle of Brooklyn, the founding of Fort Greene Park, and the legacy of prison ship martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the war. Local historians, Natasha Fearon and Alexandra Stevens, will couple historical background with the park’s living memory to unravel how struggles over freedom and remembrance continue to shape Brooklyn today.
