Our In-Community programs bring the museum beyond its walls and into community spaces, offering hands-on activities for families and all ages. Participants can explore history through interactive art making activities and engage with objects from the Museum’s education teaching collection. Designed to spark curiosity and creativity, these programs invite families to learn together, connect with local stories, and experience history in fun, accessible ways right where they live. About Miami Riverday: A historic waterfront park comes alive with cultural performances, educational activities and scenic boat tours along the Miami River. Miami Riverday 2026, celebrating its 27th year, returns to Lummus Park Historic District on Saturday, April 11th. This free community festival offers visitors opportunities to explore the river’s heritage through historic tours and reenactments, while environmental education stations provide insights into the waterway’s ecosystem. Guests can enjoy complimentary boat rides on the Miami River, participate in children’s activities, and purchase food and beverages throughout the event. This event is free and open to the public.
