In an effort to compete with the sounds coming from the British Invasion, Brian Wilson, the creative visionary behind The Beach Boys’ most memorable records, was looking to move beyond the band’s sunny surfer image and take the music in a more sophisticated direction producing an album unlike anything they’d done before. The resulting album, “Pet Sounds” ultimately became known as a revolutionary record that forever changed the world of popular music from the inside out in a way no other record had before.
