Please join the Hoboken Historical Museum for a special lecture to coincide with the World Cup – Hoboken’s Soccer Heritage: Exploring the Local History of the Global Game! From the Americus and Cosmopolitan teams of the 19th century to the formation of the oldest continually active soccer club in the United States, Hoboken FC, in 1912, up to the present day, the Mile Square City plays a seminal role in American soccer history. This lecture will highlight the evolution, influence and impact of soccer in Hoboken and surrounding cities throughout Hudson County, with a special focus on Hoboken FC 1912. This panel will include the following presenters: ⚽️ James Brown is a soccer historian and Vice President of the Society for American Soccer History.
