July 25, 9:30 am, FREE Join experts from the Howard County Bird Club for a morning all about butterflies! Start indoors with a beginner-friendly butterfly identification class covering key features, common local species and simple techniques to help you recognize butterflies in the field. Then join leaders on a guided walk around Conservancy’s Mt. Pleasant trails and gardens to apply the butterfly identification tips and tricks you learned in class. Our native plant and pollinator gardens are bursting with flowers that attract butterflies. Details: Class will start at 9:30 a.m. and the walk will begin around 11:00 a.m. Please remember to dress for the weather and bring your reusable water bottle. This is beginner-level walk for adults and interested children 8 and older (accompanied by an adult). Though dogs on leash are permitted on our grounds, please refrain from bringing your pet on this hike. Free. Space limited. Registration required.
